Best way to remove black paint from engine cases and cylinder block?

Called my local machinist to see if they would media blast the paint off and they said they wouldn't; that it would contaminate their media.  ???

So how do you guys get old paint off these parts? Jasco?

Media blasting is the best way.  You could try a paint shop.

Excellent. Called around to a few places until I found a professional metal polisher. Old british guy who specializes in antique motorcycles. Should be perfect!

No I just need to clean up the engine parts enough to hand it over to him.
