Did all sandcasts have the alt. cover logo black?

My alternator cover does have the black Honda logo on the alternator cover. I have seen several photos of other bikes the same way. Is it too much cleaning and polishing or did some come that way?

all were black. I don't think any one would balk at it if you left it alone. wouldn't be hard to paint if it botheres you though.
