I personally prefer ex dry-state US bikes, as there is a chance of retaining a good proportion of original components (assuming they are still present). UK bikes that have been used can be trouble - 105,000 miles on my UK 400/4 through 13 winters proved that. NOT ONE chrome item was salvagable when I restored it some years since. Even the swing arm and frame had rotted through in places.
