I have an aerosol can out in the shop. It's my brothers, I forgot it does all that. I'll check it out.

Will look forward to your report.  I'm just wondering how this stuff would work for removing tank rust.  If it has to be agitated to activate, why couldn't some steel shot be put in tank and shaken to agitate?   I like the idea alot that it's a rust remover and rust inhibitor.   Would not have to deal with annoying flash rust.

On another note, i can't remember if anyone posted their experience using molasses to remove rust...?  I understand molasses is slow, but effective...   wonder if there is a flash rust issue with molasses?

Hi Steve molasses diluted 10/1 with water. so one part molasses and 10 parts water in your rusty tank and come and check it in a week or two you will be very surprised at how well it works and yes put a handful of nuts and bolts in there and give it a gentle turn to help free up any crusty rust Best regards Tom
I sold my first Sandcast and regretted it till I bought it back 6958/7149, its taken a few years to get a couple more 6946/7169, and 6970/E6956

Thanks Tom, for that "sticky" report.  I'm prob going to go the molasses route when the time comes.  When you used molasses, did you have any issues with flash rust?  I've always used MEK and a heat gun to get the water out more quickly, followed by some oil, but it seems the flash rust happens about as quick as the freshly raw steel is exposed to air.

Yes you will need to flush the tank with an acid solution to stabilise the steel from rusting again the spray painter I got it from is away for 5 weeks, when he gets back I will find out what it is, Regards Tom
