Carburetor caps, difference

I noticed this difference, did someone recognize that?

I'm not too familiar with this but could it be a casting mount that was not removed in the factory.  Possibly.  The cap on the right has a rougher finish similar to what you would see on a Sandcast engine casing.  My 2 cents.
