I don't believe this is the original seat as the yellow foam used in the construction of the sandcast seats was a later feature. I believe that sandcast seats were all red foam block without the yellow foam. Of course it could have been added so as to bolster the crumbling red foam. Just my thoughts. Anyone have another view Also the nuts that hold the hinges I understood don't have any marking on the bolt heads. I can barely make it out but I think the heads have a marking on them.

My vin 1086, that i think unmolested, arrived with few hole seat, obviously red foam, collapsed but red foam.
I think that a low vin, as this 397, must have the few hole seat.
