Hi,

Does anyone know if the rolled rear rim was unique to the CB750 sandcast/early K0 or was it used on any other bike's that DID supplied rims to as OEM? My '69 built K0 never had the correct rim fitted when I bought it (confirmed by ChrisR who kindly looked at if for me and came to the conclusion it was probably from a K1 due to the style of the sprocket guide plate fitted). I did buy a correct rear wheel off Ebay US but this turned out to be a nightmare because the guy never shipped it after I waited for an age for it to arrive and had to recover the money from him via PayPal. I have new DID  rims (the type which are still sold) and I have decided to just use them to prevent my bike becoming just a pile of parts rather than a finished bike. However I do have a nice, correct, front rim which would definitely rechrome nicely and some day I may find a correct 'rolled' rim. Yamiya seem to have remanufactured a lot of early parts, does anyone think they will ever reproduce the rolled rim? I suspect not due to the high tooling costs but you never know!!

Cheers..........AshD

Ash,

i think Yamiya is reluttant to start new production.

The last week i wrote them an email regarding the ipotetic reproduction of the early flat seat, pre-production style (2113), i never have had any reply until now.

The rims, expecially the rear rim, are very sufferent in the over 45 years, and the rusty is normal.

I thought I saw one on a 450 when I was picking once.  Had wheel weights bolted through it and I couldn't verify the bead width so I left it.  Other than that, good luck finding an original.  Only one I ever came across is the one I have so if you find one get it.
