I like the sense of accomplishment researching, locating, bargaining, saving, & refinishing (sometimes refinishing) every part on my bikes. Once a bike is completed, it all seems worthwhile and accomplished, then I'm off to the next project.

Don't get me wrong, I would gladly purchase a Vic World Sandcast, if good fortune continues to shine on me.......someday

What number did the oil lines  and the smooth oil filter housing change?

Also i am very entusiath of each part of my bikes.
The search, the refinisch, the idea to do the restore are all parts of our passion.
But, after 7 restoration e 3 project on fire ( one Z1, one more Sandcast and one more K0), i would open, for one time, the crate with my new toy.

The smooth ferrule webbed fabric oil line stopped really close to vin 4148 but I don't know the exact vin number the change occurred. I own vin 4089 and it was fitted from the factory with smooth ferrule webbed fabric oil lines.

I have a couple of sandcasts including a Vic World restoration (#5254) that has never been ridden. It's been sitting indoors all its life and currently occupies a prominent place in my living room. It's exactly as it left Vic's shop with the CA title still in his name though signed off. Blue color.

It's available for $10,000 less than what Vic sells it for.

Front F11 3.25 x 19
Rear K87 4.00 x 18

Not available in the US but Yamiya sells them.

They're the least expensive I've found, US$59 for the front and US$71 for the back. Shipping might be expensive though.

Awesome link.  I do prefer doing my own as being the restorer in charge allows me to make decisions to keep original parts rather than go with new.  Seeing these photo's makes me realize just how far I still have to go to get even close to such a high standard.
