Actrually, the new assembled clutch on my bike is not working. Cant pull the lever, clutch is not opening.

So to make sure that I assembled it correctly: that outer clutch ring (Pos. 3 in the parts book), does the "open side" look outside
thts how I met it, or inside to the engine.

Given my table is inside to the engine, is it correct like that?

Any other ideras what went wrong?  The outer clutch basket is KO/Sandcast, but I am not 100% sure that all other parts are, especailly inner basket.

Yes, the notches inside the engine with the opening to the outside !!

We must also respect the position of the notches as in the photo in green...

I tried to change to new springs. It was then impossible to open the clutch. I realized that the springs wire were thicker than original so they bound with each other when the clutch screws were tigthened. I changed back to the original springs and voila! everything worked.

Thanks, mates.

Do you pre-assemble the clutch together with the outer basket and then mount the entire clutch?

Kenneth,
Don’t really got what you mean by „ bount with each other“?

Hi Sgt Pinback, Itīs not so easy to explain but it is obvious when you see it. If you press a spring fully together you can mesaure the springs length fully compressed. If the spring is made of thicker wire the spring will be shorter in compressed length. Thats what happened with my new "replacement" springs. When i fully bolted the clutch together there was no room left for movement in the spring - the spring wires were bond together. If someone of you with english as natural language understand this and can find better words and ways to explain i t would be helpful.

OK.

I still use the original (short) springs.
