Who knows how to adjust the ODO on a sandcast speedo? On a die cast speedo, the ODO can easily be adjusted by removing the little clip at the beginning of the ODO, but at the sandcast ODO is a spring mounted (see pics). How does it work with the sandcast ODO?

It's a bit time consuming to explain the full procedure, but hidden under the coil spring is a tiny circlip which must be removed so the odo wheels can be slid to the left andd then set on "zero" starting with the RH wheel and then "zeroing" each wheel to the left of the farthest right hand wheel.  CRITICAL TO EXACTLY ALIGN THE WHEELS.  THEY CAN LOOK ALIGNED AND READ OUT CROOKED WITH JUST A COUPLE MILES ON THEM.  IF YOU'VE NEVER DONE THIS PROCEDURE BEFORE, AFTER ALIGNING WHEELS, BEST TO DO A TEST RUN ABOVE 10 MILES, TO MAKE SURE WHEELS ALIGN PERFECTLY.

If odo is not a "K0" type, WILL NOT HAVE FOREMENTIONED CIRCLIP !!!!

Thanks Steve,

I found the circlip and it wasn't that difficult to remove the circlip. It was harder to slide the wheels to the left side with the spring pressing it back. But with some patience I succeeded. The die cast speedo was easier to adjust.

During the restore of many gauges, i've seen that the early speedometer have the small digid on the mumbers drum.

The late model are with bigger digit.

Anyone can confirm this?

The figures on the second sandcast-drive gauges are thinner than at the diecast drive gauges.
