Yep.  Most things, then and now, were designed to last a lifetime with rountine maintainence.  Neglect has killed more motorcycles than anything else.

No worries.  ;)  I'd have to say though that I've probably seen as many leaky CB750's as H-D's.

Harley riders unite! ;) lol Seriously though my current daily rider, an 06 Harley Super Glide has over 65,000 KM on it. Only thing I have done is tires, oil changes and one stinky stator and rotor due to a poor 2 piece design rotor that has since been replaced with a 1 piece design. Not a single drop of oil under this bike anywhere, any time.  ;D  ohh, and I forgot...with just a few light mod's this bike really hauls ass as well!  ;) Now, let's get back to sandcasts! :)

Back to Sandcast: Mine left more oil, where it was parket just the first month, than the previous R69S BMW in 8 years! Now 43 years ago. And I come straight to these lines from "unread posts".
