I own CB750E-1007419 that is essentially a complete NOS engine. #28 Carbs, smooth oil filter cup, etc. Was absolutely astounded to find it a couple of years ago.

It is essentially all "Sandcast" parts in diecast cases. The bike was purchased specifically for the engine to be used in a dirt track cart. The engine was removed and stored. It was never installed in the cart and appears to have only been run during the dealer setup.

I retired in January of 2015 and loving every second of it.

Wishing you good health and many years to come.

Something odd with the frame on this one?
Gussets at rear shock look to me to be the long type which run back under the rear seat mount. I always thought the long gussets did not appear until into 1970, ie, well past end of sandcast frame VINS.

You are correct. This is one of the closest re-stamp, forging, jobs I have ever seen. But it has been re-stamped and the font is wrong. Close, but NO CIGAR! Check closely and you can see differences in almost all the letters/numbers. The 0's and 5's are dead giveaways. See pictures below. 1005315 is genuine.

I publish this with great sadness but feel compelled to do so. The seller is Kevin Dodge and he is a member on this forum. I thought of him respectively at one time. I bought a Sandcast motor from him off eBay and he claimed to have had a stroke so he could not load it for shipping. I also bought a nice set of Sandcast #28 carbs from him which he has yet to deliver or refund the money. Mike Rieck, a dear friend of mine in Boston, drove up to his house to pick these items up for me but came away with substantially less than I had purchased. The Sandcast motor had been scavenged of the SC head and cylinders and replaced with later models. He would not provide the #28 carb set to Mike. He said they were in the loft of his barn and he could not climb the ladder to retrieve them because of his stroke. He also refused to let Mike retrieve them for him. He is screening my calls and will not reply to my emails. I have been trying to collect my parts and/or have my money refunded for almost 2 years. His eBay handle is elrkawiman.

Thanks again.

General Discussion / Early Hamamatsu Factory Pictures
« on: October 25, 2015, 03:53:54 pm »
I have seen several pictures of the early 1969 Hamamatsu Factory assembly line pictures some time back. But SOOC and Google searches are turning up essentially nothing.
Anybody know where they are? Have links?

TIA, Keith
