General Discussion / Re: SOOC Official Facebook Group?
« on: September 10, 2021, 09:33:16 am »
Hi KP. I was actual trying to save the Facebook Page for this site.  I was not aware that Wayne had already created one. I was trying to be proactive as member of this site because I wanted to get more traffic to this site through Facebook,  but I have only been treated like I'm trying to steal something.  I assure you I am not trying to steal anything.  My intentions are pure.  The information in this site is invaluable as well as the bikes we all cherish.   I appreciate this site and have been a member here for some time.   I already deleted the facebook page because Wayne contacted me through facebook and said he created one already.  Sorry if this caused you guys any stress.  Not my intentions.   I am hoping this new Facebook page Wayne created will get more traffic to the SOOC site.  My intentions is to help grow this hobby of collecting and restoring sandcasts.

Actually there is a facebook page already dedicated to the CB750 sandcast and K0.  But, if you want, you can also create a sandcast ONLY facebook page where it will only allow sandcast related postings.  Facebook can be a good platform for realtime discussions and conversations.

Bojje, thanks for those numbers.  Are these bikes you have restored?  How are these prices when compared to unrestored Sandcasts?

Fenders (mudguards) and Seats / Re: double cut Q?

I'm wondering if anyone has modified a k1 front fender.  It seems like you could have the front and rear rolled edged cut sharply and make it look like a double cut fender.

Motorcycle's For Sale / Re: Not mine. Sandcast for sale in Michigan.

It was on facebook less than a day and sold quickly.  It's nice to know that these sandcasts have a great following.

KP, you've gotta great eye for picking these misses!  For the price of $50,000, the sandcast would probably have to be an all original 2 number sandcast with 10 miles on the clock.  That being said, has there been any 3 number sandcasts that sold for this amount?

Hi Kevin, I just took a look at the ad.  I think he just placed the engine number on the description.  The engine  number is 1002734.  Hopefully he will place a photo of the engine number as well.  Are you looking to buy this sandcast?

Exhaust / Re: Tube rubber muffler between silencers
« on: October 25, 2020, 12:19:58 pm »
great question.  When I run my CB750, I can feel exhaust gases from the one or the other pipe.  I think there may be a small amount of gas exchange between the upper and lower exhaust through that connection.

Welcome Al!  Maybe you can locate a proper engine or the cases for your son's diecast.  It would increase it's value.  Good looking bikes in your family!

Welcome!  Your bike looks to be in great condition.  If you decide to restore it back to stock, you're in the right place.  It's definitely cool to see this bike in it's former glory - like a time capsule!  Enjoy the sandcast and welcome to the club!
