Title: Sandcast and K0 Face Plates Speedo & Tacho
Post by: kp on November 24, 2010, 06:36:58 am
Fellas,
I contacted this guy to ask about a discount and postal cost. He came back to me and said he would do these for $100 posted free worldwide. The catch is you contact him and say you are a member here and he will do a deal. I don't know what these are like but they do look great and are a whole lot cheaper than what I've seen. Anyway here is the ebay link. If you want the sellers email address, send me an email as I don't want to post it here.  8) KP

Thank you guys.

In addition, I offer a full refund on return if you are not happy with the faces. Under condition that you return the faces within a week in undamaged condition.

The offer for free shipping is only valid if you buy the faces directly from me, to avoid ebay charges.

The first set is already sold via this forum! There is a limited number of sets available.

They look great and thanks for offering us the deal. It would be nice to hear feedback from one of our members that purchased these. I need to restore my gauges and faceplates are on the list! How limited are these going to be?

I ordered 20 sets of each (K0, K1, K2 both miles and kilometers). There is a lot of interest in the faces. The K0 faces are already in and available for delivery, the K1 and K2 faces are expected within three weeks.

Thanks KP for this vendor.
You're "the man".
By the way.
Push Juice here in the United States is referred to as fuel and sometime gas.
Gas is one of the "Phases of Matter"

Flatulence is the expulsion through the rectum of a mixture of gases that are byproducts of the digestion process of mammals and other animals. The mixture of gases is known as flatus in medical speak, informally as a fart, or simply (in American English) gas, and is expelled from the rectum in a process colloquially referred to as "passing gas", "breaking wind" or "farting". Flatus is brought to the rectum by the same peristaltic process which causes feces to descend from the large intestine. The noises commonly associated with flatulence are caused by the vibration of the anal sphincter, and occasionally by the closed buttocks.

Both fuel and gas are combustible thus the misnomer.

Hi guys,

it is not that I want to put you under pressure, but I am selling the faces much faster than expected. I have sold more than 10 sets in a few days and some have already sent me a message that they want to buy. I have only a few MPH sets left. (I have enough for KM/H)

As I already have mentioned: I produced a limited number of sets as I didn't know the exact demand. Producing a new series is not certain.

Thanks to all of you who has trusted me and bought one or more sets.

Thanks,

Marcel

Hi Guys,

I will bring the faces to the post office today. The expected shipping time is about two weeks.

Important info!

On the front surface and the back side of the faces is a protective film. You need to peel of the film VERY GENTLY to avoid scratches. NEVER use a sharp or hard object. Your finger nail works well, but always do it gently.

This how you receive them and how to peel of the film:

I just ordered a set of these faces for my 69 K0 diecast. It's one of the few items that isn't the best on this bike so this will make it look much nicer KP

Hi Riccardo,

What do you mean with 'Gems' ?

Marcel,

Ok, but if someone else is able to produce these, it is of course very welcome as well. I live in The Netherlands and the labour costs are quite high here. May there is someone who lives in a country where labour costs are more reasonable.

I have made some changes to my website: http://www.cb750faces.com/

Any suggestion and comment is very, very welcome!

Hi Marcel,

THE GEMS (especially the yellow).

I have requested a price for producing these gems. They came back with a estimated price of producing only the molds the between 5,000 and 6,000 Euros, excluding producing the gems itself. If I order 2,500 pieces the additional costs will be € 2,000. Excluding 19% VAT. That is a total cost of € 9,520. I have to sell a huge number of gems to only get out of the costs.

May be that one of our members live in China where the labour costs are must lower.

Marcel,
in this case is better use the Swarosky!!!!!
Or real diamond, we've a friend in South Africa? :D :D :D :D

Really the only gem that is abitually faded is the yellow of the turns, but i've repainted in the back side with the clear/yellow paint used for the decoring of the glasses.

If it is only the yellow one and you can use a transparant paint, it's much cheaper. I have got a question of one of the buyers from the SOHC forum that the jewels have melted, probably by using bulbs with a too high wattage. I think that that is rare. I have several used K0 and K1 gauges where the jewels are in all cases in good condition.

WOW, :o :o :o
i've reived them today.
Very great job Marcel, very cool parts, i retain them suoerior respet the Yamiya's reprop.
The orange zone of Yamiya is so purple,  not deep orange, the right colour for the sandcast bykes.
Compliments again.

Yes thanks Marcel, I received my five sets yesterday. they are very nice, and the only thing i have noticed is the inside edge of the holes for the idiot light jewels is the colour of the plastic and on the original it is black, I suspect i can fix this in short order with a black permanent marker pen.
otherwise these are very NICE. Thanks And Best regards Tom

thank you all guys for your feedback.

And indeed, base color of the plastic plate is white and the edges can easily be colored with a black marker. I noticed it later and should had mentioned it. The holes are cutted out after printing, so it is not possible to color the inner edges automatically. And when I use a black base plate, the plates will not be translucent.

Be careful with the marker. If the ink comes on the front surface, you can see it. Stay within the lines.

Ya all have Sandcasts, but you possibly also own a younger CB750 or know someone who owns one. Hi...I got mine and it is nice. However I was wondering if anyone else has a dot or dots on the face?....kind of looks like a a ball point pen mark. Mine is beside the oil bulb opening on the tach plate.

Thanks

Given the great, positive response and numbers I already have sold, I do not expect problems with selling these. Quality sells itself.

Meanwhile, I have registrered my business at the Dutch Chamber of Commerce, to avoid problems with the dutch tax organization.

It is an auction, Steve, start price $50. I have done it as a test for only one set. I hope that many people will bid so that the selling price is close to $100 or even higher. If the auction isn't a success I will stop with it and remain with a But it now listing.

This is the other listing, still for $100: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140502099526 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140502099526)

Only a couple of hours and the auction will end. I have two bidders currently. So if someone wants to have a set for a more attractive price, it is right now the moment to bid.
