We reproduced the rubbers that sit on the light tubes under the face plate of the gauges. These are often bad, and Honda does not supply these. Now in stock!

Gauges - Levers and Cables / Re: Reproduction gauges
« on: February 25, 2019, 12:45:14 pm »
These gauges are technically similar to the European 74-75 CB750K2 gauges. I guess these were replacement gauges for the sandcast/K0. Back then, they did not restore gauges, but replaced these when they broke. Nobody cared about originality.

Awesome!

In addition to the discussion about the differences in drive bodies, I found another difference between early and later diecast drive bodies. The earliest has a more beveled neck, just under the thread. The later drive bodies, which are also applied to K1 and K2 gauges are more straight.

The plastic lenses of a Honda CB750 K0 sandcast gauge cover are hard to remove, without damaging the black cover itself. We found a way to remove these lenses and separate it from the black cover.

I use a CNC router/milling machine. It cost some time to make a holder and find the right parameters, but it works great. Anyone who has access to such machines and some knwoledge and skills can do that, but the majority of people don't ave that. And if you make a mistake and damage the black cover, you cannot do it again. But luckily, there is a online store where you can buy good repops ;)

The plastic lenses of Honda CB750K0 Sandcast gauges are often cracked or heavily scratched. If the black covers are still fine, it is almost impossible to get the old lens removed from the black cover without any damage to the black cover. These parts are very tightly connected to each other. If you want to keep your CB750K0/Sandcast as original as possible and want to keep the old black covers, we offer to replace the old plastic lens for a brand new, crystal clear plastic lens, keeping the black cover. We have the tools and skills to remove the old lens and put a new lens into the existing black cover. Including silver rim! Contact us at info@cb750faces.com

At the left side the original black plastic gauge cover with removed old lens. At the right side the new lens.

The lens lens fits perfectly into the black cover, including silver rim!

Gauges - Levers and Cables / Re: Gauge repair tutorial?

Hi Don,

It is very hard to get the plastic lenses removed from the black covers. However, I found a way to do it in a very decent way. That took a while to find out how to, but I succeeded. I use a CNC milling machine, that can mill the plastic lens with a high precision from the black cover.
this is the result:

I received many questions from customers if I could supply the rubber lamp socket holders dor their gauges, as these are often dried out and ripped. So I have decided to reproduce this rubber housing for the lamp socket for Honda CB750 ND gauges.

Only the rubber part will be supplied! The socket and lamp bulb are not included.

You can order these holders here: http://www.cb750faces.com/cb750faces.nl/en/other-honda-laverda-gauge-parts/102-rubber-housing-for-lamp-socket-honda-cb750-gauges.html
