I just ordered a set of these faces for my 69 K0 diecast. It's one of the few items that isn't the best on this bike so this will make it look much nicer KP

Your faces are underway, just brought them to the post office.

And your faces as well, Riccardo. I have send them with registred mail.

Hi Guys,

I will bring the faces to the post office today. The expected shipping time is about two weeks.

Important info!

On the front surface and the back side of the faces is a protective film. You need to peel of the film VERY GENTLY to avoid scratches. NEVER use a sharp or hard object. Your finger nail works well, but always do it gently.

This how you receive them and how to peel of the film:

Hi guys,

it is not that I want to put you under pressure, but I am selling the faces much faster than expected. I have sold more than 10 sets in a few days and some have already sent me a message that they want to buy. I have only a few MPH sets left. (I have enough for KM/H)

As I already have mentioned: I produced a limited number of sets as I didn't know the exact demand. Producing a new series is not certain.

Thanks to all of you who has trusted me and bought one or more sets.

Thanks,

Marcel

Also for this topic, some pics:

They look great and thanks for offering us the deal. It would be nice to hear feedback from one of our members that purchased these. I need to restore my gauges and faceplates are on the list! How limited are these going to be?

I ordered 20 sets of each (K0, K1, K2 both miles and kilometers). There is a lot of interest in the faces. The K0 faces are already in and available for delivery, the K1 and K2 faces are expected within three weeks.

For comparison, I put the repro face plate of the tacho next to a NOS K0 tachometer. It is exactly the same as the original.

Frame and Chassis Related Elements / Is this a Sandcast horn?
« on: November 23, 2010, 06:42:43 pm »
I took this horn from a 1971 K1 I bought a couple of weeks ago. As this has a grey body, I am wondering whether this is a sandcast horn or not. It used to mounted on the right side, but the mounting bracket can be turn to make it a left side horn. Who knows?

Parts For Sale / High quality reproduction face plates NOW WITH JEWELS

If you want to restore your gauges and don't want to use self-adhesive decals and find the Yamiya faces too expensive, I have a very nice alternative. I offer K0 face plates for both mph and km/h, designed very accurately, used the right colors (black background, light blue figures, red/orange rpm). All figures and lines are designed separately, using the original face plates as examples. Printing technology is silk screen printing, weather resistant. Printed on a milk-white 2mm plastic plate for a nice view in both daylight and with back lights.

These face plates will be supplied with jewels.

See for yourself at the pictures.

Special price, only for SOOC members €70 for a set MPH + tacho or km/h + tacho, both WITH jewels.

Only offered here, for Sandcast Only club members

I will ship worldwide. Free shipping if bought directly from me. Please mention me that you found this offer at this forum and if you want the MPH or KM/H face.

In addition, I offer a full refund on return if you are not happy with the faces. Under condition that you return the faces within a week in undamaged condition.

I accept Paypal

I found some yellow/gold paint on the lamp ears and the air filter housing. But not on the side panels, lamp bucket and tank. So it could be that one of the previous owners didn't like the gold color and replaced tanks, lamp bucket and side panels and repainted the lamp ears and air filter. I have a name and address of the owner who owned the bike in 1985, but the doesn't live there anymore. And the previous dutch owner passed away. but I don't believe that he changed the color. The bike hasn't been on the dutch road. It still has its US title.

Hello and welcome Lecram to our site. Great pictures you have take of your bike. Keep up the pictures as you are restoring this bike. The black badges are an oddity as these were fitted to the Candy Gold bikes and Police bikes as I understand. Maybe you need to check the paint very closely
All the best and don't hesitate to ask any questions you need answering as the members collectively have a vast store of knowledge.

Thanks for your warm welcome.

I found a Honda website with a picture of a Ruby Red K0 with black emblems. Given some details like horn and front fender, this is a late K0. I was surprised to see this. Despite this picture I decided to replace the black ones (which are still is a very nice condition) with gold ones.

General Discussion / Re: Home Zinc Cad Plating Kits

I don't know what you pay in the US for zinc plating, but I paid 65 euros for zinc plating all zinced parts for my K0 in Holland. And it saves you a lot of time.

New Member Introductions / Hi from Holland!
« on: November 18, 2010, 06:37:42 pm »
Hi guys, my name is Marcel and I live in The Netherlands. I found a low milage 1970 CB750 in outstanding condition. It has some strange K1 parts, but some of them will be replaced by K0 parts, like gauges.
This bike has been imported to Holland in 1987 and after import stored in a shed, for 23 years. The owner passed away and I bought this bike. It has only 5000 mile on the gauge and I have no reason to doubt about it, given the condition of the bike. It has even his first tyres!

Find the bike introduction here:

http://cb750sandcastonly.com/smf_forum/index.php?topic=373.0

I will try to keep the bike as original as possible. The frame will be repainted, but with a vintage look. some parts re-chromed and some parts replaced. With less as possible reproduction parts.

After polishing the painted parts. Note: this is the original paint!

a small crack:

and a scratch:

not bad at all after 40 years!

Some pics of the dismantling. The frame, rear bridge and centerstand will be painted in vintage look black paint. All welding spits must remain. Some chrome parts are replaced
