Agreed that the green one was on the turntable based on the front indicator lens fitted.

good call chris lol
i was always lead to believe  that was the gold bike simply because it was called the brighton bike on compareing the honda with the earlier pics of a greaves scrambler which we all know had green fibreglass tank i tend too agree
the gold honda was the first ever pics i saw of a cb750 and never saw a real one untill much later. so the sale of this bike today spans the whole of my interests in the honda cb750

;) hi ash if you are saying they are 26 mm carbs its only the honda 750 automatic comes to mind but not the cables i dont think and there again perhaps its just the float bowl is off a 750 ?
my best guess is they are probably off a early twin like a cb72/cb77

James May's 'K0' bike was feature here :-

https://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/stock/classicbike_oct_2013_web.pdf

on reading the james may mag he does say that the frame number is before the k0 numbers and it does look to have the black kill switch as opposed to a red kill switch ,but saying that the mirrors are wrong so the switches might have been changed pity he did not confirm his frame number ;)

General Discussion / Re: CHAIN BREAKS EARLY BIKES

;) yes i tend to agree with you Steve i have owned three maybe four CB750s with engine case damage and i agree its the over run on the chain that is the main cause making the slack on the chain bunch up on the top of the sprocket and smash the cases because of its close proximity. i have never seen this on any more powerful models of the time,so for me i dont blame the chain ,and we all know how often we need them adjusted

I seem to recall there was an after market vacuum gauge which could be mounted under the left side panel? In which case these extra tubes you refer too were maybe something to do with such a set up? Or maybe my mind is making stuff up!

yes you are correct i have a set of pipes that all connect to one vacuum gauge with four valves to turn on and off one at a time ,until i found a magazine showing it ,i had no idea how it sits(it bolts to the regulator)  ;)

;) nice find, we need to dig out more old pics like that, the mirrors, switches, carbs and the camcovers have all been changed on production models ,even the routeing of the brake line to the caliper is different? does this bike still exist, i would love to see it in the flesh lol

The engine VIN's for Netherlands and England should not show a starting point of 1000001
it can be said that no sandcast models came to the UK in 1969
UK only got cb750 diecast from 1970 starting from frame# 1010369  :(

Front End and Suspension / Re: Yamiya K0 Shocks

;) hi guys am i missing the point here ?  about the repro parts i mean?
i always thought honda subbed a lot of thier work out anyways e.g. showa ,hitachi ,d.i.d. stanley, nippon denso, the list is probably endless ,even honda themselves had a sub-contractor code in their part numbers
so would it not be reasonable to assume that these same sub-contractors could be making the same parts for yamiya, silvers, saisei z1 mach1V whoever?
honda  have stated they will not make or supply parts for motorbikes over fifteen years old.
so i dont think them very same sub-contractors would just shut up shop
i will gladly buy any repro part as long as its fit for purpose ,if it comes from japan then its a bonus in my book
im just glad that at least somebody is making them, because if it was left to honda alone ,we would not even have be having this discussion
old man honda always said he would make or supply parts for the older bikes
now the world is run by bankers and we all know how that will end  lol

This bike won’t get many miles on it and probably won’t ever get these lines worn off.  For showing should I try to wash them off or just leave
;) i would say run them tires in for a hundred miles just too scrub them in ,that should remove the lines at the same time
i would not like to see that nice new bike go down the road, just cause the tires are to smooth ;) safe driving

im not sure if you will see attachment
on closer inspection it could well be that the lip has been polished off and there is indent between screw holes?
