Sandcast 4423 / E3717 is listed on eBay, asking $42.5K or best offer.  At present there are only a few photos.  Having said that, the same bike is listed on Craigslist with a lot more photos, including the VIN and engine plate. The eBay ad says 0 miles, perhaps because it was rebuilt a one time, but the Craigslist ad shows the odometer with 47.6K miles. The bike is not listed in the directory.

"88 Model Distinctions" / Rear wheel adjuster difference change
« Last post by Newday777 on July 05, 2024, 10:46:15 am »
Reading in the 91 distinction of the sandcast, there is a post of the adjuster having no holes like the newer adjusters have.
My question is when did the change happen?
I have one no hole adjuster that was on a K1 chopper frame and the other was with the holes.
I looked st the CMS parts fiche for the K0 and it references the holed adjusters, like on up to K8 have.

Engine is painted and almost ready to be reunited with the motorcycle! I’ve got to get a move on because I received an invitation to the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance, in September. I don’t attend a lot of shows, but it’s the only event my wife enjoys attending!

Back in the stand. Too wet and rainy for more paint. Sorting parts. All the covers have been polished up and I have a new set of the correct screws.

Light coat of paint on the back end, before it goes back into the rotating nine stand, for full paint.

Used my tractor to get the engine out of the stand (working by myself).

Just an update, been looking for the missing parts for the engine. found most of them but still missing a few items.
1. the sandcast sprocket cover. it's the small cover on the rear left side of the engine covering the small sprocket
2. sandcast number "8" engine bolt set
3. sandcast oil hoses
if anyone has any of these parts and looking to help a fella in need please let me know. thank you

Hello friends,

bought the engine 2556 off of eBay a few weeks ago. While looking around on ebay for a sandcast oil-pan met Steven who pointed me here.
I don't  know much about sandcasts and based on my brief research here they seem to be quite different  than the diecast k0's.
thinking about doing a build thread here to document the build and get help from the rest of you on finding and identifying the correct parts.
for starters a matching sandcast frame would be great  ;D
