thought some might like to see the engine test stand i use to to run in engines before installing in frame. not having a welder, i had a friend make the stand up for me. F1 engine pictured in stand. ran it through 3 heat cycles for total of about 75 minutes. of course, use a fan when running the engine stationary. really a good feeling to know the engine has no issues before burying the engine in the frame surrounded by thousands of dollars of perfect nos or restored parts. testing the engine before beginning the restoration removes unwanted suspense. the other good thing with this test stand, is i can dynamically time ignition, synch the carbs, and dial each carb's a/f ratio with the exhaust gas analyzer.
