  But a 3.9mm AES male connector will have a problem going into a 3.5mm Honda female connector.  In other words if I put the 3.9mm AES male connector on my wire harness it won't fit to the mating devices that already have the 3.5mm female connectors.

Just tighten gently with pliers AES 3.9 mm female connector screws a screws of the Honda 3.5 mm male connector and it is good and it would like very well.
For the AES 3.9 connector you press it slightly in strength in connector 3.5 Honda which is not closed and that deviate necessarily...All right? I have not managed to find Connector 3.5 mm on the internet...

The link that I posted has the part numbers for the Honda 3.5mm terminals.  They are available many places but I have not determined if they are available in the tin-plated version.
