While having my coffee this morning, I went through small adds and found a bike I fancy to have for long time. Sent him a mail, got a re-call and agreed to buy it. Got contract. Will have it picked up by a carrier soon.

Went out with the dog and had a great walk.

Nice bike!  What year is the R90?  I just bought one last week as well.  It's a 1976 though.  I'm not too familiar with them but I couldn't pass up the deal.  I've always wanted one as well in my garage.  Enjoy the ride!

She’s from 1974.

Yes, it’s time to get one.

Bike looks very nice.  Does it need any work, or is it road ready?  Either way, i wish you good luck with it.  BTW, it looks like you have plenty of beautiful land to roam round.

Bike actually is street registrated, has new MOT and is running.

But needs lots of TLC. See that engine.

Haven´t seen her yet personally so let´s see what will come in.
Maybe a soft rolling restoration.
Abyway, will try to keep her genuine painture and patina as far as possible and reasonable.

I am living in Leonberg which is besides Stuttgart. 15 min to porsche museum, 15 min. to reach the black forrest.

If anybody is here just send me a PN.

Actual daily driver is a R100/7 (and a 320, a 325 and wife’s 116)

hey Uli!  Thanks for posting, beautiful old "Beemer" and beautiful countryside!  as soon as i saw the "smoke" paint job, i wondered if it was an R90S, here in the states, the smoke paint job was orange to white.  BMW couldn't produce enough of the orange R90's, Americans loved the color.

Uli, not to worry about "coming out!"  i had a 1991 R100GS ("GellandeStrasse") i had a white power rear shock and and emulators in front fork, i loved it, it was a beast, attached is pic of me at 12,000 feet on Mosquito Pass back in 1999.  at heart, i am a British motorcycle lover!  not to steel from your thread, but i bought a 'restored' 1967 Royal Enfield Interceptor Mk.1A a year ago last May, have wanted one since i was 15 when i first saw one in the factory's cheesy half page black and white ad, the factory ad wording read, "Not everybody can have one.  There aren't enough to go around.  That's why the owner of in interceptor has something special.  Something the other fellow does not have."

Steve, Daytona Orange came in 1975 and was available beneath smoke silver here as well.

When the R90S came  73 and 74 only smoke silver. Mine is an early 74 (series 1) bike: polished alloy blinker, no drilled brake rotors, old handlebar switches ...

Gotcha.  Very cool.  A local buddy has a silver/black S, i don't know what year it is, but it is immaculate.  How many years was the R90S produced?  They were a special motorcycle.

74 smoke silver in USA. But to me paint doesn’t look genuine. Compare front of fairing to mine.

Daytona orange was invented by US boys that won the daytona race with an R90S.
