Thanks for the compliment.

And for the info, of course!

I add another photo from the seat. Just to be sure.

When the whole seat is wrong (or is it only the lock?), I will look for a new one and wont have that one restored.

Do you or somebody else have a pic of the correct KO diecast seat/ lock?

General Discussion / Cylinder Head - please identify
« on: November 01, 2013, 03:21:29 pm »
I know there are some cylinder head discussions, but I am still not able to see the differences ???

As written in my intro, I have got a lot of spare parts. E.g. some cylinder heads.
Two have that "300" stamp on it, two others dont have it.

Can you tell me more?

And some more funny figures "12.25..." in the second dimple

Hi John,

the tank actually on the bike is not the tank it originaly came with. I think it is K1 or K2 (see the chrom guard with black stripe). The original wrinkle tank is here in the box:

It has a big ding so the owner changed it (I assume) to the actual tank. Luckily, he kept it!

I will have fixed it and with the set of sidecovers, lamp and ears and  airbox (that came with the bike) I will have it re-painted in ruby red.

Are you sure with the rear shocks? I thought they have the correct KO- spring ?

Here is a detail from the seat

I hope it is still the original seat.

I think, the cushion (?) is just flat, maybe due to age, maybe because the owner made it flat.

I will bring it to a saddler, telling he may rescue as much of the old cushion as possible, upholster it and fix a new cover.

John,

I will not talk about money a paid for it. But I think the price was fair enough. And with all the spareparts it is OK for both sides.
Was this bike resp. the offer discussed here?

And good eye John,

thatīs  my 1973 Z1

New Member Introductions / From Stuttgart with a diecast and some photos
« on: November 01, 2013, 12:11:18 pm »
Hello,

my name is Uli, I am 53years young and have had HONDAS from 1978 onwards when I made my licence. I stated with a CB 400, came to CB 500 (witth 600ccm engine) to two CB 750 KO in 1981. As a student I restored those two 1969 KOīs (without money and without internet), sold one of them and traded the other one 1984 to a CBX 1000. I drove the CBX for aroung 75 tkm together with a Z1-R until 2003.

Here is an old pick from 1981

I recently purchased a 1970 CB 750 because all the years the KO was anchored in my mind.

Its a One -owner from new, unrestotred but very well looked after machine. The owner just passed away at around 80. Sadly, I could not seek to him, but he must have been a realy CB 750 enthusiast. The machine was still registrated. I got the complete historie.

With the bike I had to purchase a mass of old CB 750 spare parts. Most of them I have to sell to get the space.. and some mones back.

So here are some pictures.

Please have a look and feal free to do some "critisism" because I whant to bring her back to genuine specs (I assume over the years a lot had been changed to keep her running).

As far as I can see the fuel tank is K2 (the genuine wrinkle tank in ruby red is here bt has a dent) and the pipes are 341 not 300.

First pick in the her new garage. I dismanteled that rack (already in ebay..) and changed those chrome - pipe - guards and cleaned her

After a few hours of cleaning

Of course there is "patina".

I made a lot of picks today , please feel free asking me for details to see what should be changed, what is not KO correkt, what would you do....

Thank you for watching,

Uli
