Lucky number "8" makes another appearance! I don't recall noting this earlier. After stripping and spraying a thin coat of epoxy primer on my swing arm another "8" was staring me right in the face. As you can see it's a stand alone number "8". Perhaps my Daughters friend is correct that the Japanese just believed that 8's were lucky and would bring success and good fortune with this endeavor???

That's possible. Eight is considered "prosperous" in Japanese culture. Good thing they aren't fours as those numbers signify death.

Would be interesting to know if Tom Faulds could enlighten us Canadians a little. :)

That's pricy. I ship my parts to Poland for chrome plating. Poland still has low labor costs. I pay about 50 euros/rim for rechroming.
They currently work on about 100 kgs of parts which costs me 3200 euros.

Do you have contact info for them?  What's the quality of the chrome?

Yes there are some here. Im not sure if this is  low enouh a vin for the discussion but I have #256 and I know of at least one other original to Canada sandcast around the high 200 range. I'm trying to get a little more info on the number of sandcast that were imported here but there is very little info out there.   Honda has no record of the imports.
