What is that orange cylinder looking thing attached to the crash bar?

What an incredible find.  I'd love to hear the story of how you found it. Yes, please document your restoration process if you're able.

General Discussion / Re: FRAME and ENGINE NUMBERS - Correct Honda Font
« on: October 23, 2021, 09:54:11 pm »
Let's get some traction on this thread.  From personal observation the font during the sandcast production did not change.  I may venture and say that the font throughout the entire production did not change and it seems to be the same for the frame as well as the cases. The "B" and "9" are odd shape in the entire series.  The vertical line on the B does not touch the top of the horizontal line and the 9 looks like a musical note upside down.  A good way to tell a restamp is to look at the B and see if it it matches.

Wow!  What a great and original bike!  This is a high value machine. It's always surprising to me that people keep something so long and  don't sell it.  I guess if you have the space what's the point of selling it.  Do you have any pictures of it from back in the day?

Welcome to the forum.  Please post some info on how the bike ended up in Iceland.  Have a good day.

The "piece de resistance" is the side cover emblems positioned in the wrong direction.  Missing D washer on the right side unicorn triple tree always gets me fuming.

Surprisingly high winning bid.  I thought 5k would be more inline with current prices but guess not.

Right in my backyard.  Wonderful to see how things were back then and less how things are now.  It's great to have our vintage bikes to remind us of times gone by.

Everything K0 / Re: CB 750 Four Early German K0

Dear all,

I'm able to buy a K0 with the frame serial # CB750 1007323.
Is this a real sandcast frame serial number or not?

Kind regards,

Bruce

Hi Bruce

Anything under 7414 is considered a sandcast but it is possible that your frame is in the sandcast range but the motor is not.  Take a look at this thread.

It's being relisted.  Here is a note from the original listing.

On Apr-08-19 at 12:14:36 PDT, seller added the following information:

I am cancelling this sale and relishing to US sales only. Halan-11 ran this up to 12000 then threatened me and tried to bully me into taking less. I am stopping this auction and relisting

I think that once you go with a full restoration it doesn't matter what colour you chose.  It is no longer original paint so go with a colour you like.

General Discussion / Sandcast video

I haven't seen this video posted but it's well done even though I don't agree with everything he said.  He predicts the future price of the sandcast at £250 000.  That's hard to believe.

Literally brought out the red carpet for his sandcast.  The selller has a hell of a view from his house too.

Very nice example.  He bought it in 1985.  I wonder if he knew he was buying a sandcast on just lucked out.  Were they more sought after in the mid 80's?
