Engine Mechanical / Gasket Installation with Gasket Sealant?
« on: February 19, 2010, 04:07:19 pm »
Question ,  :-[

When installing engine gaskets on the cylinder head, piston head, clutch cover, oil pan, etc. do you:

Also put silicon gasket sealant on both sides of the gasket?
or
Put only the gasket on?

Thank you,
Joe

Engine Mechanical / Re: Engine Smoking Oil from Oil Lines
« on: February 19, 2010, 04:06:31 pm »
Well I took the engine apart and found that the #2 piston was deteriorated on one corner side. Also, in the #4 cylinder, one of the rings was broke. I am so glad I took the engine apart to do this re-build, because I learned so much about it! It's really not that hard to do either, as long as you use a shop manual and keep the parts in order.

Now I will have a great running, compression motor to ride all year long in beautiful, green (because of all the rain we have had this year) southern California!!  ;) ;) ;)

I don't feel any exhaust coming out of #2 pipe. I am starting to think I will need to re-build the motor. Not a big deal. I wanted to do it anyway, now this is the motivation I need.

Engine Mechanical / Engine Smoking Oil from Oil Lines
« on: February 19, 2010, 04:05:38 pm »
My motor is now smoking oil out of the top valve cover oil line and top oil reservoir tank oil line. No smoke/oil is coming out of the exhaust pipes. Has anyone experienced this before? I will need to check the timing and do a compression test. I am not sure about the milage. Maybe a piston ring has broke. Any advice will be helpful. I want to do an engine re-build anyway, but later rather than sooner.

Thank you,
Joe

Hello Fellow Sandcast and K0 Junkies:

Does anyone have any suggestions to stop the oil from coming out the little hole near the front sprocket? I am assuming this is to oil the chain, but it is also oiling my driveway and I want it to stop.

Thank you,
Joe

Steve,

Is the event going to be in Alabama or Ohio for the 40th Anniversary of the CB750?

736cc,

Although it would be nice to contribute to your restoration project with some of my bikes parts, I would be crazy to do so! I am busy trying to get ready for the 40th Anniversary ride from Southern California to Alabama. Who wants to join me?

Steve,

It would be an honor to manage the K0 Pressure Diecast section on the CB750 Sandcast Only web-site. Just let me know when I can get started. I look forward that this will add enrichment to the membership.

Thank you,
Joe

Thank you,
Joe

Gauges - Levers and Cables / K0 White Plastic Speedo and Odo's
« on: February 18, 2010, 08:52:45 pm »
I just purchased some really good replica K0 speedo and odo adhesives to put over the old face plates. Problem is the face plates are warped. Does anyone know where I can get white plastic or does anyone have unusable old face plates so I can properly adhere the new faces?

Thank you,
Joe

Other than e-bay, does anyone know where I can get a K0 right control switch button? Red is OK, Black is even better.

Thank you,
Joe
